Grain-Free Goji Berry Dog Treats

Grain-Free Goji Berry Dog Treats

You want the best for your fur babies…

You may agonize over which vet will give them the best care. Maybe you wonder if the groomer your friend uses is the best for YOUR puppy.

You may also wonder if their food or treats are high enough quality… as you should.

Over the last few years, there have been a number of dog food and dog treat recalls. Even one recall is enough to make any dog parent concerned. No one wants to possibly put their puppy in harm’s way.

What can a loving dog parent do about this?  You can make your own natural dog treats!

Grain-Free Goji Berry Dog Treats

These Grain-Free Goji Berry Dog Treats are so easy to make! Stored in the freezer, they are a cooling treat on hot summer days.

With only 4 healthy ingredients and less than 20 minutes, you’ll have plenty of time for a walk in the park or a game of fetch!

Which 4 ingredients?

  • Coconut oil — helps keep the coat shiny and smooth. You can use any coconut oil for these dog snacks, but we prefer WFN’s Centrifuged Extracted Coconut Oil. Read about the benefits of coconut oil for dogs here.
  • Peanut butter  — a great protein treat for dogsIt holds these treats together, and no dog can resist it!
  • Parsley — helpful for doggy breath. Fresh parsley helps to clean bacteria off a dog’s tongue and freshen their mouth.
  • Goji berries  — high in antioxidants, but can be controversial. Some say they aren’t good for dogs to consume. When an issue like this arises, I go to the experts. I asked our local vet about goji berries, and she said that they were fine for dogs to consume. If your dog is on any medications, however, check with your vet first. Goji berries may reduce the effectiveness of some dog medications.

These grain-free dog treats will keep in the freezer for up to 2 months. They make a wonderful training tool for puppies, too!

Have you ever made dog treats? Has your dog ever had goji berries?
