The name Rooibos is South African for "red bush". The plant is broom-like in structure with needle-like leaves and it belongs to the legume family. It is a very popular tea in South Africa.

Some people do not like the taste of Rooibos tea because it has a strong herbal taste. If you like herbal teas, this may not be an issue for you. If you are serving it to children or a spouse who is not as "health-minded" as you, you may want to make a weaker tea, sweeten it with honey or apple juice, and chill it.
