Making yogurt requires a constant warm temperature, yogurt cultures and milk. The ingredients are easy to obtain. It is the temperature that is difficult to keep constant for 6-8 hours. No one wants a failed batch of yogurt, and temperature is definitely the key.
Since yogurt can be used in so many recipes - as a replacement for sour cream and other dairy, as a sauce for fruit salads, on granola, in smoothies, for ice cream, etc. - and because the ingredients are fairly inexpensive, it is great to have Yogurt makers, which make everything incredibly easy.
Choose a yogurt maker that makes two quarts/liters at a time as one large batch, or a yogurt maker that has 7 individual glass jars per tier. Wilderness Family Naturals also carries extra tiers for additional jars, replacement jars and a cheese bag for making yogurt cheese.
For Yogurt Cultures and other type of culture starters please see our "Culturing Products" page.
